Maritime Communication (MARCOM) is a training course which utilizes the technology of Virtual Reality (VR). This was developed with an aim to enhance the quality of training relative to MARCOM on-board ships. The VR environment lets students experience the actual usage of flag semaphores and signaling, morse codes, and ship-to-ship or ship-to-aircraft communications. These are all based on the "Standard Marine Communication and Phrases" which was agreed upon by the IMO for international communications and signals.
Protection of the Marine Environment (MARPOL)
Marine Pollution (MARPOL) is a training course which utilizes the technology of Virtual Reality (VR). The course was created and developed for the purpose of providing students an avenue to visualize and understand MARPOL in a realistic environment without the requirement to be actually in a ship. MARPOL is an international convention that regulates rules and covers ship pollution prevention.
Seamanship 1 - Ship, Ship Routines and Ship Construction is a training course which utilizes the technology of Virtual Reality (VR). This training module showcases a visual representation of a vessel and its parts. The students may navigate the ship to thoroughly see it's parts and structure. Through this medium, students will be familiariaze and accustomed to the ship before coming aboard an actual one.
A Celestial Navigation (CELNAV) is a training which utilizes the technology of Virtual Reality (VR). This training module was developed to provide students to familiarize them with their environment in which they can see celestial bodies and apply the principles of CELNAV to locate one's current position - may it be on land or at sea.
